Subject: Quit Bashing Ryan....

Give Mr. Adams a break; Yes, he does flub on some of the songs, but overall he sounds just fine. Many of these songs are probably new to him, and I'm sure they didn't spend much rehearsing before the tour. That beings said...he still VERY enthusiastic about each song, both on vocals and guitar. Obviously Phil loves what he brings to the table, and I think its great. As a Grateful Dead AND Phil Lesh fan, I will continue to support open doors to musicians that want to carry on the torch!

Equating Phil's vocals to the sounds of a dying mule-OMG-LOL-you nailed it dude,but God love him,he gives it his all.And yes,it's an aquired taste for sure.I gave this show a 5 star rating 'cause I love Phil,Ryan & Red Rocks.If you're looking for perfection,this ain't it,but God I LOVE this show!!!

Subject: Cranky dead heads need to lay off

Mr. Captain Trips, you need your head checked. For someone who would drive from Oklahoma to hear Phil sing is beyond me. Phil's vocals sound like a dying mule. Ryan may have missed a few lyrics, but he has one of the bests voices in music today. Especially our scene as a whole, which I think generally lacks in vocal capability (much more stong in music playing ability). You may have read Phil's message on the philezone about Ryan. I suggest looking for it.
Anyway, if you appreciate Ryan Adams, listen to this show.
If you are an old cranky dead head who is waiting for the second coming of Jerry or for someone to replace his every waking note and lyric, you probably won't find this show any different than any other Phil and Friends show.
Oh yeah, 6 stars for this show because Phil didn't sing in a single song. I usually skip tracks whenever he sings a song. He's better off sticking to bass playing (which he is very good at).

sounds like Phil singin Scarlet Begonias>Fire but he cant sing very well anyways( phils words).I wasnt there but the recording isnt bad, and Barrys no joke, hes been kickn with DNB for a long time.great jams

Subject: Ryan ???...Come ON PHIL...

I was shocked to have driven from Oklahoma to see this show. It was pathetic...Come ON PEOPLE..if you were there you would not give this show 2 stars. The hopes were high, only to be let down by this guy Ryan who couldnt nail a SINGLE song, but his own, which were not anything to yell about. Phil didn't sing one damn song, what a let down...Ryan fucked up Bertha even, how can you do that..He forgot the "Test Me, Test Me" part, which WAS the build up to the song..JEEZ...Phil do us a favor and not bring that Ryan guy back, he didnt nail a song, guitar/vocal wise.....
Phil, You should have picked any person in the audience to come up and play ryan's part. It would have been much better and much more interesting, then to hear ryan flub EVERY SONG and to fuck up on the guitar work..Anyone in the audience could have nailed all the lyrics and so forth, get someone who LISTENS and PLAYS dead tunes, Not some guy who sings in a pop band......

Subject: Great stuff!

After hearing all the Ryan bashing, I can only be impressed with what I've heard here. He adds real feeling to the Garcia songs, (he does mess up Candyman... oh well) and his own songs are virtual masterpieces. Great sound, too.

Subject: Best sounding source in MHO

Of the three sources I listened to of this show, I would have to say that this one is the best. It just sounds more 'realistic' if that means anything to you. Well, played, nice jams. Phil is really impressing this jaded head.

Great sound ÃÂ hard to get to
I downloaded the entire show in a zip file. Ok, I am a glutton for punishment! Well, when I attempted to get files from the ZIP file I kept getting checksum errors. If I said OK to the error dialog I was able to get the files just fine. However, I did have to save each file at a time. Whew, what a hassle.
The sound quality was great.
The recording was a better Eqed than : Nic Brokenleg's recording.
The vocals and instruments were more 3 dimensional. However, Nic's did have more raw punch.
Well worth the hassle!
